The buildings fronting Station Street take inspiration from both Byron and Station Streets. New shopfronts are contemporary interpretations of traditional shopfronts found on Byron Street. Materials reference the local vernacular. An awning projects over the footpath as a direct reference to Byron Street. This, and small landscape pockets provide shade, relief and pedestrian amenity. The new buildings are designed to respect and conserve the character of the Station Street precinct and remain subservient to the dominant heritage buildings such as the A&I Hall which anchors the street at the northern end.
